little neighborhoods on the south side and grab a steak at Zandy's Steak Shop! The food's fast, but not "fast food". While you are there, be sure to walk around a bit and see a neat little commercial district. From the Urban Land Institute For Generation Y, American dream becomes an apartment in the city. There are lots of housing choices in Center City Allentown, including great apartments in the Farr LoftsSenator Robert Casey (D-PA) introduces the Green Communities Act (S 3055), aiming to help urban areas adopt green strategies. Allentown has put considerable effort into the planning for sustainability and we have some resources dedicated to implementation. Assistance with adoption would be very welcome.

This post has me missing Allentown! I LOVED living in the Farr Lofts. I also loved Zandy's and that hip record store across the street! Thanks for keeping everyone informed about the good things going on in Allentown!
Not much Good going on is there?
Hey, here's a good thing I've noticed: more small businesses starting up lately. There's some place on Linden (at 8th St.) called Free N' Deed that appears to be a secondhand clothing store in the works. There's also Caleigh's Closet, a vintage/secondhand shop that opened in the 1100(?) block of Linden. There have been others but I am forgetting at the moment. I wonder if the crummy economy has prompted some people to become entrepreneurial. Or maybe the rents have come down as a result. Either way, it's nice to see new businesses.
A month without any new good news? This can't be true. Tell us that someone went on vacation.
