I ran into a neighbor of mine last week outside of our apartment building, and we were talking about things we like about Allentown. He grabbed his phone and showed me this picture he had recently taken.
We live in the shadow of an architectural treasure and Lehigh Valley icon, the PPL tower.
With a picture like this, it's hard to take it for granted.
You can see it from all directions in the region. It's been in movies where it has doubled sometimes as the Empire State Building. It has been home to some falcons (who we hope come back).
Fifteen thousand people work downtown. If they, hurry home before dusk, though, they miss the beauty and the majesty of breathtaking views of the PPL tower at dusk.
Neighbor, thanks for the picture.
